Prof. Dr. Youry is a biotechnologist with a master degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Bologna (Italy), a doctoral degree in Applied Biotechnology from the University of Verona (Italy) and a postdoc at the James Hutton Institute in Scotland (UK). He has been a professor since 2008, teaching subjects such as Cell Biology and Plant Biology, Plant Biology and Plant Physiology, Elements of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Agrochemicals, Management and Use of Agrochemicals and Their Fate in the Environment, among others. Furthermore, his research group focuses on the following main research topics: i) the study of interactions between plants, soil, and microorganisms aimed at improving the uptake and utilization of mineral nutrients; ii) the study of physiological and molecular responses in plants exposed to varying nutrient availability; iii) molecular and physiological responses of crop plants exposed to biostimulants and abiotic stresses. His group is located at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (UniBz), in the Faculty of Agricultural, Environmental, and Food Sciences.
